NJ TRANSIT
NJ TRANSIT is New Jersey’s public transportation corporation. Their mission is to move New Jersey and the region by providing safe, reliable and affordable public transportation that connects people to their everyday lives, one trip at a time. NJ TRANSIT also administers several publicly funded transit programs for people with disabilities, senior citizens and people living in the state’s rural areas who may have limited means of transportation. In addition, the agency provides support and equipment to privately-owned contract bus carriers.
NJ TRANSIT charges half price for people 62 and older, or 65 years of age or older for travel on the Metro-North Railroad line, with proof of age.

Providers use smaller lift-equipped vans and minibuses and may operate route deviation, curb to curb, door to door, or on an advance reservation basis. Services may also feed into existing mass transit bus stops, train or light rail stations. Although there are some services open to the general public, others have eligibility requirements and may be restricted to senior citizens, people with disabilities, or social services clients.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, transit agencies nationwide must provide paratransit services for people with disabilities who cannot use fixed route transit services. All counties in NJ Counties provide paratransit services.
In NJ, this NJ TRANSIT service is called Access Link.
